Exploiting the potential of the physical activity and sedentary behaviour paradigms in the prevention and management of chronic disease
Key theme aims
- To better understand health outcomes, and factors moderating health outcomes, of sedentary behaviour in diverse populations through the conduct of targeted observational epidemiological research.
- To conduct experimental investigations into the acute and chronic health benefits of reduced sedentary behaviour.
- To conduct experimental investigations into chronic effects of short high-intensity bouts of physical activity.
- To advance the use of novel measurement technology in sedentary behaviour and physical activity for research and the benefit of patient health.
