The event was aimed at giving members of the public and patients the opportunity to hear about exciting new research initiatives and their impact on patient care, and to interact with local researchers in the areas of Diabetes, Nutrition, Lifestyle, Physical Activity, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, and Medical Device research.
The morning consisted of presentations from speakers on the new research initiatives and ended with the opportunity for participants to ‘ask the panel’ of speakers questions from the morning sessions. The Q&A was very well received and there were a number of very insightful and constructive comments and questions from the delegates to the panel. Notably ‘why haven’t you done this before’ ‘can you do it again’.
The Q&A was followed by lunch and exhibition viewing in the afternoon where delegates had the opportunity to speak to the researchers to find out more about the research being conducted.
